Well in doing all the Diety upgrading on the forums.   I came across this:  http://www.candlekeep.com/library/articles/holydays2.htm

Which its very interesting that some of the TSM most populars churches can celebrate within the cities.

Ches (4th month)
    1st     Seeing Justice                                        Tyr

1st - 10th   The Festival of the Pride                  Nobanion

    10th   Great Clang                                              Gaerdal Ironhand

    12th   Candle Rites                                            Loviatar

13th   The Communion of Laughter              Garl Glittergold
               The Maiming                                           Tyr

19th   Four Feasts             Vernal Equinox     Gwaeron Windstrom (ranger hero demi god, more known in Mournbryn)
               Four Feasts             "            "                 Mielikki
Song of Dawn          "           "                  Lathander
The Budding            "           "                  Rillifane Rallathil
The Dance of Swirling Winds   "   "      Aedrie Faenya
The High Hunt          "            "                 Eilistraee
               The Shattering        "            "                 Valkur
Treasures of the Earth     "         "         Segojan Earthcaller

Rite of Pain and Purity       "          "        Loviatar
Endless Revel of Life         "         "        Sharess
               High Hunt                  "            "                 Malar

    20th   Great Clang                                               Gaerdal Ironhand

    22th   The Blinding                                              Tyr

    30th   Great Clang                                               Gaerdal Ironhand
               High Coin                                                   Waukeen

Just thought it might be interesting if the Team comes ups with ideas around Holy Days.   Perhaps, watch out for Priests or Followers doing thier diety thing?

Just a idea, tossing out there for RP

Sounds like fun, but since everyone can't be online when a specific in game date is - we could instead move them over to rl-dates.

We could start with it in October (most of September is over)

Hmmmm....

*looks at date list, looks at Calendar, gets idea*

Hey! Are there descriptions for each of those holiday dates anywhere?

Cause I'm thinking that even though we (and by we I mean all of us, players, DM/QLs, everybody) might not be able to do something for all of the holidays, if they are listed on the calendar section *points at the "Calendar" button everyone should have atop their pages* then it can at least give people a heads up. Especially for clerics/paladins/blackguards of specific deities, the player can at least maybe plan something that day to RP out....

... granted it may not match with the in game date/time, but I think we can all manage to suspend reality for a bit on that and just match FR calendar day for RL day. This could also help with future plans to move time forward in a mass server plot sense.

I can pull from that Candlekeep list the days and dates and put them into the calendar for people to take a gander at. I can put what deity it's supposed to be for, but I'd also sort of like to add in a brief description of the holiday so people can reflect that in game.

If any of you are willing, please! By all means list in this thread any descriptions you may have for those holidays and I'll toss them into the calendar.  Grin

well, alot of these to the Dieties are within the church section for what they do on Holy days & Ceramonies.

Like this one:

Holy Days/Important Ceremonies:
The church of Garl holds monthly worship services on the 13th day of each month an auspicious day in gnome folklore. Known as the Communion of Laughter, the Forgotten Folk venerate the head of the gnome pantheon through a variety of activities that last the entire day. Although the order varies from temple to temple, the Joker's rituals include a period of prayer and quiet contemplation, dancing atop the central dais, the sharing of communal meals, storytelling to the accompaniment of visual displays of magic, and joke telling contests that last late into the night. Individuals are expected to offer a bit of gold (or other precious metals, if gold is not available) to the god, even if it is just a handful of gold dust. The moneys so collected are used by the temple for the collective benefit of the community.

lmao, one I have done and completed.   I am still working on the others.

If we wanted to arrange for something larger, say the Feast of the Full Moon or Greengrass, would that be appropriate to address to DM/QL folks?

Post something in the usual spot.

http://www.talesofthesilvermarches.com/forum/index.php?board=4.0

That way all the DM/QLs can see that there's some interest in the holiday. Hopefully a QL will be available on that day and will respond in kind. Smiley

Just finished up the Gnomes..  The more human base, being the largest of the list not even touched yet >.< ;  getting the smaller pantheons out of the way.

I have 3-5 resources on doing the searches for Dieties.   Giving all the information found up to date of 1372;  Non-fourth edition.   Hardest part is doing churchs for getting the Holy days with ceramonies.   Working at this guys. ^.^

Just an idea (since the other thread is locked).

If it is moved, shouldn't it be moved to the forum called "Celebrated Holidays?"
